Dear participant,
The purpose of this study is to provide an evidence-based analysis of pedestrian behaviour on the Technion campus while pointing to possible impediments to increasing walking. This will be done by analyzing the daily activity of pedestrians within the Technion campus.
In this study, you will be asked to download and install a customized smartphone app that was developed for this research. After signing this consent form, you will be asked to fill out basic demographic information (this is not mandatory). Please note that the app is working in the background, and you do not need to open it or do anything else. We do, however, ask that once a week, you make sure that the app is running; if it is not, please restart it.
We kindly ask you to maintain your regular walking activity when visiting the Technion campus. Please refrain from any activities that might put you – and others – in danger.
Participation in this study is voluntary, and you will not be compensated in any way.
The data collected by the app is confidential: all the walking records will be kept confidential. You will not be able to be identified at any stage. The research records will be kept using advanced technological means, and only the researchers will have access to these records.
Participation in the study is completely voluntary: you are free to choose not to participate in the study and to stop at any time without providing a reason and without your rights being violated. You are free to uninstall the app at any stage.
